It’s so much fun being a Life-n-Reflection affiliate. Just look at the fun products I get to work with!
This month I had the pleasure of trying out these…
And you can download the sign for free!
And isn’t this Spring Pennant Banner just ridiculously cute?
To make the shadow box I started with this awful piece of art that had been in my closet for years, in fact I have another one of these!
I disassembled the shadow box and gave the frame a skim coat of pale turquoise.
I still wanted some of the brown to show through.
While I waited for that to dry I picked out a piece of scrapbook paper that complemented the Sign from Life-n-Reflection and I covered the “box” with the paper using glue dots to adhere.
Then I got out my trusty hot glue gun and glued two twigs one about 1” from the top and the other 1” from the bottom.
I punched 4 holes in the corners of the sign and tied the sign to the twigs with bakers twine.
I decided not to put the glass back on the frame, it looks so much better without.
I cannot get over how beautiful it turned out, so pretty!
And the frame is just amazing with the skim coat of turquoise.
And now for the Spring Banner…so sweet.
I strung it onto yellow ric rac and tied it to one of my favourite wreaths.
Swoon…just perfect!
You really should check out all of Kristy’s products, this girl has definite talent.
My Husband and I visited Boston 3 years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary.
It is such a beautiful city and I quickly fell in love with the amazing architecture .
Here are a couple of pictures from our trip.
I’ve had this lame garden sign lying around for years, I never did use it or put it up because you see I don’t have a garden shed or anything, although I am an avid gardener and own many garden tools. I keep the tools in a messy container in my garage or hung on the wall.
So it was time to reinvent this sign.
I gave the sign several coats of black chalkboard paint. I got busy with my Silhouette and cut out several Boston “places” on adhesive vinyl. I arranged them on my freshly painted sign and then gave them another quick coat of black chalkboard paint so that the white that I will use for the lettering will not bleed through.
For the white I simply used plain acrylic craft paint.
Once dry I peeled off the vinyl and used a pair of tweezers to get the little circles and triangles loose in some of the letters and numbers.
Now to distress it with chalk!
I rubbed the entire sign with white chalk and then wiped off with a dry paper towel.
Here it is all finished…love it!
This little sign already has hangers on the back so I can easily hang it on the wall too.
it’s a nice reminder of our wonderful trip.
And I cannot wait to visit again someday.
