DIY Bulletin Board & Flower Push Pins

With a little help from my husband we made this stylish bulletin board for our 12 year old daughters room. She was in need of a way to put her keepsakes on display and a bulletin board fit the part.

The average bulletin board was a little too plain for my liking so we dressed it up with a little trim and pretty push pins.

Here’s the materials you’ll need.

1. Wood Frame Bulletin Board

2. MDF Casing

3. Wooden Square Medallions

4. Construction Adhesive

5. Painters Caulking

5. Paint

We used the square medallions to eliminate having to mitre cut

and it also added a decorative touch.

The length of your casing will depend on the size of your bulletin board, we cut 2 lengths at 20” and 2 at 32” and our square medallions were 3” square.

We used the construction adhesive to adhere the casing and square medallions to the bulletin board and for added strength my husband secured with a few brad nails using a nail gun.

We then covered any seams with painters caulking and then I gave it a fresh coat of white paint.

To make the pretty paper flowers I downloaded this file form the Silhouette online store.

They are very easy to put together, just layer leaves, and then the biggest to smallest petal pieces and use a fancy brad to keep it all together.

And then use a dab of hot glue to attach your push pins to the back of your flowers.

So darned cute, I need to make some of those push pins. I love them and they look pretty quick and easy to make. I don’t have a fancy silhouette but can punch some flowers or cut them out to do what you did. Might not look quite as fancy as yours there you go, gotta do what ya gotta do. I love making paper crafts. Glad you shared these.
I am so mad at myself, few weeks ago I passed up two boards at Goodwill and just didn’t think about what I could do with them. We have 2 granddaughters 13 and 16 whom might have liked a bulletin board.
Love how you snazzied up the one you made for your daughter, Lucky girl. The trim makes such an incredible difference.
    Happy Summer
