One of the best things about preparing for the kids birthdays is designing the invitation.
Using Pic Monkey, I created this this beautiful invitation for my daughter in about 30 minutes.
I’ll send these off to Costco for prints and voila – designer like invites created by moi!
And here’s how I did it.
You will need to subscribe to Royale Effects to use all of the effects I used here.
Google “free chalkboard backgrounds”, you’ll definitely find free backgrounds to download.
Open Pic Monkey, click edit a photo and open your chalkboard background of choice.
Here are the font’s I used.
Give it a whirl, you can create your own subway art, seasonal prints, menus for dinner parties, anything you want. Chalkboard art rocks!

That is so cute. It only occurred to me to look for a free blank chalkboard online to use a few weeks ago. Doh! They are such fun to create. I love the banners – I haven’t used them yet. What fun.

Love it! I used picmonkey recently to do some Valentines cards for hubby & kids. I only have the free version but you can do a lot on that too. Maybe one day I’ll upgrade. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Sarah, for the tute. I just discovered Pic Monkey but just barely. I think there is a whole lot in there to do. I’ve been using Picassa and I love it but what I saw in Pic Monkey is even better! It’s finding the time to delve into it a bit further. It’s fun manipulating photos, isn’t it?
Thanks for linking to what to do weekends also. You help make it a great resource. Linda
