Here’s a little description from Lucy’s Etsy Shop

In the early 1900’s when the mines were flourishing, each miner marked his entrance to the mine by placing a numbered tag over a hook. By doing this everyone knew which miners where down in the mine. When all the tags were off the hook at the end of the day, all the miners were up and safely out of the mine. Each tag represents a piece of American history.
Tags numbers will vary.
This piece is simple and stylish on its own, or adds a beautiful dimension to any layered look.
This necklace measures 24″ long and features a ball chain.

Lucy has over 90 items in her shop, each one with it’s own vintage flair!

I am super duper lucky, mine is in the mail – and I cannot wait to receive it. My 12 year old daughter has asked if I’ll share it with her, she absolutely loves the necklace too!
